Karalina’s to help fight breast cancer

CLIFTON PARK (Oct. 16) — On Saturday, Oct. 17, Karalina’s — a combination of a women’s boutique, a home decor store and a gift shop located in Clifton Park Center — will be holding a “Power of Pink” event to raise money for the Northeastern New York Affiliate of the Komen for a Cure.

With the sale of each Power of Pink 2009 bracelet, $5 will be donated for breast cancer research and awareness.

Ten percent of the day’s sales will be donated to NENY Komen. Mocha Lisa’s will be providing coffee from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Dolce & Biscotti breast cancer cookies will be available for a $1 donation.

In addition, handmade pink crystal earrings by local artist Karen Friello will be available for a $10 donation. And Brighton will donate $5 for breast cancer research and awareness with each purchase of either a Power of Pink bracelet or a Power of Pink badge clip.

There will also be a raffle with tickets for $1 each for 1 of 6 prizes. The prizes are:

  • From Dolce & Biscotti: a 6-inch breast cancer cake and a $20 gift certificate
  • From Archipelago’s: a pink breast cancer diffuser
  • From Voluspa: a pink rose 3-wick candle and perfume
  • From Spartina: a large pink print change purse
  • From Brighton: a pink silk cord necklace with wish charm
  • From Accents De Ville: a pink-and-green magnifier and letter opener
